Electrodesiccation and Curettage, also called curettage and desiccation, is a skin cancer treatment used to remove basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. The Electrodesiccation and Curettage procedure is common among dermatologists for treating benign and superficially invasive neoplasms.
Electrodesiccation and Curettage procedure treat superficial skin cancers by scraping off skin tumors and destroying cancer cells around the edge of the wound.
Treatment involves scraping the damaged skin surface with a curette (a spoon-shaped instrument).
